The workshop

On August 28th, The Walter Anderson Museum of Art will offer "From Log to Blog", a  Sunday afternoon seminar featuring award-winning Mississippi author and photographer Ellis Anderson.  The interactive presentation will be held from 2-4pm at the museum and is part of WAMA's 20th Anniversary lifelong learning series.

In the workshop, Ms. Anderson will begin by exploring the traditional craft of keeping journals, using examples from The Horn Island Logs of Walter Inglis Anderson which, half-a-century after his death, still speak with vitality to artists, writers, historians, and nature-lovers the world over.

She will then demonstrate a range of contemporary tools and techniques, showing  participants how to make their own  imaginative works instantly available worldwide over personal computer, using her own blogs and online video shorts as examples contributing to family chronicle, historical research, and the creative arts.  After presenting samples of each medium, Anderson will demonstrate the simplicity of the blogging process, using a laptop and projector to actually build a blog during WAMA's Sunday afternoon "From Log to Blog" presentation.
